Optometry Admission in India

The admission process depends upon the course you choose. In this case, let us consider popular courses like B.Optom., B.Sc. Optometry and M.Optom.

Optometry admission process may vary from one college to another. If you want to get into a government institute of reputed private institute, you must apply for merit based admission process. Under merit based admission process, seats are distributed among deserving and eligible candidates on the basis of their performance in relevant entrance exam.

Some private colleges also carry out direct or donation based admission process. If an institute has access to large number of vacant seats, they may choose to distribute these seats among interested and eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis. This is known as direct admission process. Many private institutes also have management quota seats. These seats are utilized for donation based admission process.
